Chandler, AZ (September 15, 2019) – At least three vehicles were involved in a collision on Loop 101 Sunday afternoon, with at least one person being transported to the hospital due to the injuries they sustained in the wreck.
According to a report from the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a gray sedan, red SUV, and tan minivan all collided in the right lanes of Loop 101 near the Ray Road exit. All vehicles were traveling in the northbound lanes of L-101 when the accident occurred, causing the gray sedan to spin out and come to a stop in the middle of traffic, blocking two of the right lanes.
Phoenix police and fire rescue units were at the scene of the wreck, and paramedics transported at least one injured victim to an area hospital via ambulance. A spokesperson from the Phoenix Police Department says the wreck may have been caused by ongoing construction that has closed the shoulder of this stretch of L-101.
Officials are still investigating at this time and have not released further information about those involved.
