Black Canyon City, AZ – Multi-Vehicle Crash Closes I-17

Black Canyon City, AZ (July 24, 2019) – A multi-vehicle collision on Wednesday night, July 24th, closed I-17 north of Black Canyon City.

According to officials, the multi-vehicle accident occurred around 9:18 p.m. At least two vehicles appear to be involved in the wreck, which occurred when the vehicles traveling southbound on I-17, also known as the Black Canyon Freeway, collided and closed all lanes. Authorities were on the scene to assist victims and investigate the cause of the crash. All lanes reopened several hours later, but information about the drivers and their families has not been released at this time.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recoveries.

Multi-Vehicle Crashes in Arizona

Serious car accidents, defined as those involving injuries or deaths, are on the rise. Nearly 55,000 injuries and more than 1,000 fatalities occurred from crashes statewide last year alone, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. ADOT data also shows that the summer months bring more traffic to Arizona roads, resulting in a higher risk of these dangerous incidents.

Victims may suffer tragic, unforeseen circumstances after a car accident, including long-term injuries, costly medical bills, and even job loss or death. However, victims and their families affected by wrecks can contact a Phoenix accident lawyer for help, and in some cases, get the justice they deserve from a personal injury or death lawsuit.
