Avondale, AZ (December 23, 2019) – At least one victim is in serious condition following a multi-car collision in the West Valley on Monday
The accident happened around 7:30 p.m. on Interstate-10, near Avondale Boulevard and Broadway Road. According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department, one driver was traveling westbound on I-10 when their car collided with another car in the rights lanes near the Avondale Boulevard exit. Deputies say the driver suffered non-life threatening injuries, but local paramedics arrived on the scene to transport the victim to an area hospital via ambulance.
It appears that the victim driving the other car received only minor injuries, though the cause of the crash remains under investigation at this time.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
Arizona is one of the top five most dangerous states for driving in the country, according to a study by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Over the holiday months, injuries and fatalities associated with car accidents are particularly prevalent. In fact, the research, which recorded injuries and fatalities between late spring through fall, found that Interstate 10 had 100 deaths during the busy holiday seasons last year.
It’s clear that these serious incidents are an unfortunate reality of life in Arizona. And those who sustain crash injuries cope with physical and emotional trauma, having to document their injuries, negotiate with insurance companies, and even take time from work or deal with job loss. But individuals who are affected can seek help from a personal injury lawyer, especially if they’ve been involved in an accident that’s caused by the negligent actions of another driver.
