Avondale, AZ (January 7, 2020) – A serious injury accident that occurred on Tuesday evening in Avondale is under investigation by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
According to Avondale police officials, the wreck happened at 7:30 p.m. on Interstate 10 at the Dysart Road interchange. Authorities from DPS said two vehicles collided in the eastbound lanes of I-10, and two more vehicles collided in a separate crash on the other side of the highway. It appears that one of those vehicles was a sedan with a blown-out tire.
At least one person was seriously injured in the accident and transported to a local hospital via ambulance.
Authorities closed the eastbound lanes of I-10 for more than an hour to investigate but have not released further details at this time.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families. We hope for their full recovery.
The latest accident report from the Arizona Department of Transportation showed that there were 130,000 motor vehicle crashes across the state in 2018 alone. At least 37,000 of these total accidents involved two or more individuals in need of medical care or even hospitalization.
Suffering from crash injuries often leads to both physical and mental trauma. Oftentimes, wreck victims must document their injuries, negotiate with insurance companies, and even take an extended leave from work. But victims and their families can seek help from a personal injury lawyer, especially if they’ve been involved in a crash that occurred due to the negligent actions of another driver.
